Undefeated Eagles Prepare for State Tennis Tourney
The Desert Christian Boys Tennis team, in only their second year, finished the regular season undefeated with a 12-0 (10-0 in the 2A South Region) record. State tournament competition begins in Phoenix next week. Go Eagles!

It is the rare result of talent and teamwork coming together for every single game. That is just what happened with the Middle School A Soccer team this winter. Students from every grade participated in this year's DCHS Shakespeare Festival with performances ranging from tearful to hilarious. Eagle vs. Eagle in End of Season Matchup
After beating Phoenix Country Day in the first round of Regionals, the Desert Christian Eagle boys closed out the basketball season against the top-seeded Scottsdale Christian Eagles. Unable to overcome a third quarter run by SCA, Desert fought back to within seven and had to be satisfied with a final score of 60-53. The Girls' Varsity improved their record throughout the year and made a strong showing against the top two teams in the conference. Spelling Bee Buzz
This year's ACSI District Spelling Bee attracted over 90 elementary and middle school students from all over Tucson. DCS students demonstrated poise and aptitude in representing their individual classes. Cindy Riley Wins National Award
Honored for her years of service, special accomplishments, and contributions to high school interscholastic athletics, DCHS Athletic Director Cindy Riley was among eight recipients nationally recognized with the 2008 Distinguished Service Award by the NIAAA at their annual event held in San Diego this December. Since 1986, Mrs. Riley has devoted herself to athletic programs, serving on numerous committees and boards at the state and national level and has received several awards. Fiddler on the Roof
Patrons of the DCHS musical theatre department flocked to see Fiddler on the Roof. In it, the themes of tradition, revolution, and discrimination were set to unforgettable music. The talented cast included over 70 students and professional musicians. A special benefit dinner and performance was added to honor the 60th anniversary of the Nation of Isreal and Holocaust survivors living in Tucson. Gallery....
A Middle School Night's Dream
Mrs. Phillips (formerly Miss O'Neill) directed both seventh grade classes in a lively and colorful rendition of Shakespeare's classic romantic comedy, A Midsummer Night's Dream. Boys and Girls Summer Basketball Team Look for Competitive Challenges
DCHS Varsity and JV Boys and Girls have been competing this summer in Santa Rita and Flowing Wells Basketball leagues, camps, and various tournaments which offer higher levels of competition to prepare them for the winter season. Anticipating good things for next year, the Girls Varsity squad celebrated after scoring 44 points in a win over 4A Santa Rita High School.

Recognized for his work helping Iraqui refugees as a translator, tutor, and cultural advocate, Desert Christian senior, Ali Rawaf, has been honored with the local newspaper's highest student achievement award for excellence in academics, school and community. Desert Christian welcomes Jon Self as the new High School Assistant Principal.Mr. Self comes to DCHS after serving as a school and mission director in Belize, Central America for the past 5 years as well as a former K-12 principal.He is joined by his wife of nineteen years, Linda, and their children, Amie, Breanne, and Nathan.Jon says, “I have been living by faith in Jesus for almost 30 years now, and by God’s grace it just keeps getting sweeter. My desire, as a member of the DCS family, is to be a blessing by living by faith and to serve those that God brings into my path.”
